The client Exclusive is a privately owned group of, as the name implies, exclusive country house hotels, golf clubs and spas servicing the corporate, leisure and weddings market.
The brief was to create a development experience for their 'bright sparks' – a group of possibly twelve individuals who showed particular promise. The aim was to prepare them, over a period of ten months to contribute even more to the business by fulfilling their potential as effective managers and influential leaders.
Our response to the brief was the FASTTRACK programme, a blend of training modules and personal coaching linked to experience gained working on a carefully selected group project. The projects were issues that featured in the strategic plan and hence they provided direct contributions to the performance of the business whilst serving as a terrific learning opportunity for the FASTTRACKers.
"As part of the FASTTRACK programme, key business cases were taken on as projects within the teams and the results have been very much part of Exclusive Hotels' strategic progression from both a customer and business perspective, such as Quest (our customer loyalty measure) and Exclusively Green (our environmental policy)."
Successful completion of the programme was marked by the presentation of the project to the Strategic Leadership Team followed by presentations to the company.
Details of our current work with FGA Capital, the UK finance arm of the Fiat Auto Group will be available here soon.
This year we have been working with FGA Capital, the UK finance arm of the Fiat Auto Group, on the developmental support of the 28 key members of their sales and marketing teams. The assignment was primarily about assisting these people to undertake a rigorous personal development planning exercise.
The Preston Partnership ran a series of two day development centres which needed the logistical planning of a military campaign and not just when the groups of participants converged on Beaumont House, the specialised venue near Windsor, that was chosen to host the development centres. The participants needed careful and sensitive handling before, during and after their attendance on their designated centre.
Participants were sent especially produced packs containing information guidance and preparatory activities. The activities were a combination of reflective exercises, on-line personality/motivation assessments and planning tools.
Day one of the centre saw the participants work on a range of exercises, designed and/or selected for their capacity to draw upon the participants capabilities. The team of business coaches observed the participants and shared the information in one to one feedback/coaching sessions that were run on day two.
Participants left their development centre with the basis of a plan. They continued to receive the support of their business coach up to the point where they felt ready to share their plan with their line manager. The intention was to incorporate the plan into the on-going business, personal performance and development planning/appraisal process.
The development plans have been collated and analysed to ensure that the necessary support is available to the participants individually and collectively as part of our ongoing commitment to their success.
